The airline's funding, together with a grant from Sport England through its 'Inspired Facilities Fund', has enabled the leisure centre to install a biomass boiler to replace its oil-fired boilers.
The biomass heating system, powered by sustainable wood chip, will reduce the centre's fuel expenditure by nearly 40 per cent per year and also significantly lower the carbon dioxide emissions from the facility.
