A LARGE number of Camelford residents aired their views and concerns about a proposed food store in the town at a public meeting held last week.
A large number of people packed into the former North Cornwall District Council offices at College Road, Camelford on June 14, to hear a short presentation on the proposal.
European Land Ltd are seeking outline planning permission for the development of a food store, medical centre, three affordable housing units, employment infrastructure, landscaping, parking and access arrangements on land at Victoria Road.
The meeting was organised by Cornwall Council's Strategic Planning Committee, and was attended by committee members and chaired by Mike Varney.
The presentation was given by Steve Kirby, who went over the contents of the application in more detail.
He noted that the site was not within any landscape constraint, but on the edge of the town, adjacent to the A39.
The plan, if permitted, would include the formation of a new junction opposite 23/25 Victoria Road.
