CAMELFORD couple Bev Pooley and Luke Dingle organised a fundraising event in St Breward recently in aid of the Meningitis Trust and the Ronald McDonald House, following their son Riley's

successful recovery from meningitis which he

contracted at 11 months.

Now two-years-old, Riley is still undergoing some treatment but was full of bounce enjoy

himself at the event, held at St Breward Football Club.

The all day event included six-a-side football

tournaments for the under 12s and under 14s with teams entered from Camelford, St Tudy (two teams), Bodmin (two teams) for the under 12s, and Bude, Camelford (two teams) and St Tudy for the under 14s.

The football was followed by a sponsored head and beard shave for Luke Dingle and a head shave for Shane Yeo, a body wax for Luke, with finally entertainment into the evening by well known local singer Michelle Pleuss.

The fundraising also included a bingo and raffle prior to the day, and a team entered the Bodmin Lions Ten Tors across Bodmin Moor in which one of their team members, Martin Jago, came home first.

The total raised so far is in excess of £4,000 and Bev and Luke are still receiving donations. Bev can be contacted on 01840 213659 or 07717 203603.
