THE cost of advertising the vacancy for a clerk to Camelford Town Council was discussed at a recent meeting.
The current clerk, Mr Brian Groves is due to retire in November and the vacancy will need to be advertised.
Mr Groves told councillors at the April 19 meeting that to advertise the vacancy in the Cornish Guardian would cost £800 for one week and £995 for two.
An advert in the North Cornwall Advertiser (NCA) would cost less.
He had notified the Cornish Society of Local Council Clerks of the vacancy and received three applications.
