As with other town councils in the Post area, Camelford Town Council have started closing some of its services to the public.

From Monday, March 23 the town council closed the Enfield Park play area as well as the skatepark. In a statement released by the town council, it emphasised that heeding the government’s isolation warning was a priority. It read: “It does not take this decision lightly — whilst it sees the value in playing outdoors for mental and physical wellbeing, the reality is that young people, at present, are not taking social distancing seriously.”

Camelford Town Council is currently awaiting guidance from Cornwall Council regarding the ticket machine for car parking within the town. It is advised to wear gloves whilst operating the machine as car parking is still being enforced.

According to the council, Enfield Park will remain open for the time being. CTC is awaiting advice from Cornwall Council later today or tomorrow regarding open spaces and beaches and will disclose this information when they have it. The public toilets are being cleaned regularly and remain open until the town council are told otherwise.

The computer area has been closed in the library due to high risk using the keyboards. The lift has also been closed. However, the library remains open for the time being and people can return books, but no cash is being taken, therefore they are unable to offer printing.
