MARK Hodgson (aged 13) from Camelford along with his friend Eugene Rimmer (11) and his dad Duncan Rimmer from Glossop (Derbyshire) spent 12 days walking the 177 mile Offa's Dyke trail.
The trail runs along the English/Welsh border from Prestatyn to Chepstow and is rated as one of the UK's most demanding walks. They tackled the walk to raise funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust as Mark's sister Kaitlin has the disease.
Over the last 5 years the boys have raised over £6000 for the Trust by walking:
Hadrian's wall (84 miles) in 2005
The Cumbria Way (75 miles) in 2006
The Pennine Way (268 miles) in 2006
The West Highland Way + Ben Nevis (110 miles) in 2007
The Coast to Coast Path (192 miles) in 2008
They hope to raise over £1,000 in their latest adventure.
Mark, a pupil at the St James Smith's School in Camelford, says that "now we have completed most of the UK's national walking trails we will have a go at long distance cycle routes."
