Not everything can go to plan as the members of the Delabole Fire Brigade found out on the evening of Monday, December 21. Father Christmas was ready to begin his tour of the village with the crew, but a fire call-out to Davidstow soon changed their plans. Even though they were running an hour and half behind when they returned to the station, they got ready to go and tour the village as they did not want to let the local children down. Streets of Delabole were lined with young and old coming out to see Father Christmas touring the village in the fire appliance along with the many helpers handing out goody bags to the children and raising money for the Fire Fighters Charity. A total £185 was raised. Firefighter Simon Heard who organised the event was grateful for the support of the village being so patient in waiting for Santa's tour.
