ST PETROC’S Primary School has enjoyed an exciting start to the term, taking part in lots of activities for spring.

The Year one and Reception class recently paid a visit to see the lambing at Pitworthy Farm, being given the opportunity to feed and hold the lambs.

It seemed the visit couldn’t have been timed better, as the children were lucky enough to witness a lamb being born.

The pupils at St Petroc’s have also been enjoying the new playground area at the back of the school. The children have been given the chance to design what they would like to have in the wonderful new outdoor space.

The spring sunshine has also been enjoyed by all, with the children dusting off their cricket and rounders bats ready for the new season.

Finally, the whole of the community at St Petroc’s joined together to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday. The school sang the National Anthem, and then devoured endless amounts of delicious cake.

Headmaster, Dan Thorburn, said: “It has been a wonderful start to the term with so many exciting events taking place. The Queen’s birthday celebration rounded off an action-packed two weeks.”
