THE Queen’s 90th Birthday pannier market saw a roaring trade as stall holders came together to provide the public with an array of treats and experiences.

There were many stalls and things to do including a chance to try out a driving simulator run by the local police, adult and children’s fancy dress and a cake and face painting stall raising money for Make-A-Wish foundation. Winners of the adult’s fancy dress competition were the team from the British Heart foundation charity shop, Gina Abrey, manager Sarah McFadden and Marleen Clifton.

The younger generation also got involved, dressing in red, white and blue for a Queen’s birthday themed fancy dress.

A cake and face painting stall was run by The Original Factory Shop team and was said to have gone very well, with all proceeds made from the sale of cakes and face painting going to Make-A-Wish, a charity who help grant magical and life-changing experiences and wishes to the most deserving children and their families who are fighting life-threatening conditions.

Make-A-Wish is The Original Factory Shop’s chosen charity for the year and the team began setting up at 8am on the Tuesday morning and didn’t start packing away until around 3pm.

Throughout the day the team sold trays of cakes and by packing up time they were left with only two trays, which they then took around to those still left at the market to offer them a cake.

From the sale of their cakes and face painting stall The Original Factory shop raised £147.46 for Make-A-Wish.
