FOUR Holsworthy Army Cadets have now received their medals after competing at a recent Devon Army Cadet Force (ACF) County sports event held at HMS Raleigh.

Colonel Ashley Fulford, Commandment of Devon ACF, presented the medals.

Cadet Kaya Kirby received bronze for her efforts in the girls’ long jump and cadet Isobel May scored silver in both the girls’ long jump and 100-metre event.

Cadet William Hart won gold in the 300-metre race and bronze in the 800-metre race. Cadet Ben McKenzie achieved gold for the shot put and bronze in the long jump.

Detachment commander 2Lt Jim Harvey said: “I am very proud of the cadets for these excellent achievements at a county level event.”

Opportunities to participate in sports are just one of many exciting activates on offer to young people over the age of 12 who choose to join the ACF as a hobby.
