BUDE’S Liberal Democrat Cornwall Councillor, Nigel Pearce, recently met up with Cornwall Council’s cabinet member for the environment, Liberal Democrat, Sue James, to look and discuss local issues in the town.
Cllr Pearce said: “Meeting in Bude is best to see first-hand what the problems are and how they can be resolved.
“Cllr James agreed that the new beach huts were looking great and need to be kept at a very high standard while the manufacturer would soon be carrying out improvements to the paint finish on a number of huts, which are also showing an excellent profit on return from the Cornwall Council million pounds investment.”
Shortly after Cllr James’ visit, she announced a £40,000 funding for upgrading the Crooklets play area.
Cllr Pearce added: “Children love to play at Crooklets beach’s sunken ship, mast and bridge, but it has deteriorated lately and needs improving. My grandchildren play there and they enjoy it so much.
“I like to think of it as a place to go out in the fresh air and away from the TV where they can use their imagination.”
