AS?TEN or more electors of the parish have given notice in writing within the allocated 14 working days since a vacancy was officially announced, a by-election will be held to appoint the next Launceston Town Councillor.

The election is to be held for one councillor to represent Launceston Parish's North Ward.

Nomination papers may be obtained during office hours from the Deputy Returning Officer, Cornwall Council, Room 36, Luxtowe House, Liskeard PL14 3DZ.

Nomination papers must be delivered to the Deputy Returning Officer at the above address by noon this Friday.

If the election is contested, the poll will take place on Thursday, November 4.

Amendments to and cancellations of existing postal or proxy vote applications and new postal vote applications must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at the Council Offices, Room 33 Luxtowe House, Liskeard by 5pm on Wednesday, October 20.

New applications to vote by proxy must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Wednesday, October 27.

New proxy applications arising in the case of a medical condition, or incapacity arising after the sixth day before close of poll, may be applied for by 5pm on polling day.
