BOSCASTLE was buzzing on bank holiday Sunday with activities, including the Boscastle Group of Churches annual fete on Valency Lawn, by kind permission of Jane Castling. The morning began with a service in the open air and was followed by the fete with homemade cakes which were a sell-out success. New this year was the Ducking Stool, made by Trevor Lloyd, which attracted crowds. Parishioner volunteers agreed to sit on a toilet, complete with 'cistern' above while people paid to throw a puck to empty the water from the cistern on to the volunteer.
