BUTCHERS Philip Warren and Son will aid the network organisation, Cornwall Food & Drink in the setting up of the new local food retailer project, the Great Cornish Food Store.
The well-known family butchers and farmers from Launceston, will be overseeing the procurement of fresh meat for the store.
They will ensure all meat is sourced from Cornish farms with traditional methods of maturing and butchery.
Cornish Food & Drink announced recently that they are creating this pioneering new local food retail outlet located alongside the new Waitrose store at the Tregurra Park and Ride in Truro.
The new retail store will cover 5,000 square feet and will be open for up to 12 hours a day, seven days a week.
The store will have a strong focus on fresh produce and will be the first retail development that is dedicated entirely to supplying local food and drink in Cornwall — it is the first retail project of its type in Cornwall and nationally.
At the helm will be Ruth Huxley, Claire Vickers, Angie Coombs and chef Paul Ripley will be overseeing the in-store cafe, deli and food-to-go area.
Working alongside them will be Philip Warren and Son who will strive to ensure the meat produce being used in store by Mr Ripley and others’ sections is to the highest standard.
