BUDE Coastguard Rescue Team (CRT) were paged at 12.10pm on Monday, January 2, tasked to assist paramedics with the evacuation of a woman with a leg injury at Warren Point, near Duckpool beach, Bude.

Upon arrival, and with several team members already on scene alongside the paramedics, Bude CRT received a second tasking from the Coastguard Operations Centre (CGOC) in Falmouth, and were asked to respond to a report of a woman who had fallen and sustained multiple injuries at Crooklets Beach in Bude.

To back up the existing members of the Bude team who were already on scene with paramedics at Warren Point, Hartland CRT were also paged, and tasked to attend the first incident as back up rescue team.

Meanwhile, half of Bude CRT made their way to Crooklets Beach, and assisted in the evacuation of the second casualty to a waiting land ambulance.

Safely aboard the ambulance, the team returned to Warren Point, joining their colleagues in Bude CRT and Hartland CRT, who had performed a challenging stretcher carry to the waiting land ambulance. With the casualty safely on board, both teams were stood down at 2.59pm.

l Bude Coastguard Rescue Team were paged at 5.02pm on Thursday, December 29 and tasked to Crooklets beach, Bude, to assist the police in the search for a missing person suffering with dementia.

After approximately half an hour of searching, and with the police helicopter on its way, the Coastguards Operations Centre in Falmouth received word that the person had been located, and the team were stood down to return to the station.
