THE Camels Garden in Camelford is now offering customers the chance to reduce their consumption of single-use plastic with the introduction of a Rodda’s milk station.

The fruit and vegetable shop, based on Camelford’s Fore Street, recently introduced a Rodda’s milk station to their customers, allowing people to bring their own container or buy a glass bottle from the Camels Garden and fill it with milk for just 75p a litre or 43p a pint.

Owners Alan and Claire admit they have ‘been waging a war on plastic’ since they opened earlier this year, encouraging the use of paper bags. Now, the introduction of their ‘milk vending machine’ is set to invoke positive change amongst the Camelford community, allowing people to take small steps in being more environmentally conscious.

Alan and Claire said: “The Camels Garden hopes that this refill machine is a small step to reducing unnecessary plastic waste in Camelford. This is an environmental initiative which we hope will encourage Camelford to change the way milk is purchased.”
