ST Mabyn Post Office opened on October 23 at St Mabyn Community Shop, replacing the branch at Wadebridge Road.
During the public consultation the community supported the move. Services are provided from a Post Office counter alongside the retail counter. The opening hours will be the same as currently Monday to Friday: 8.30am to 5.30pm; Saturday: 8.30am to 12.30pm.
The move was part of the ongoing modernisation of the branch network. It is thought a local style branch alongside a successful retail store is the most effective way to safeguard sustainable Post Office services in the community into the future.
Andy Healey, Post Office change manager, said: “We are confident that this vibrant new-style Post Office at the heart of the local community will meet customer needs.”
The branch will continue to offer customers a wide range of services, from posting letters and parcels to collecting and returning online shopping items. Customers can also take advantage of a wide range of banking services including cash withdrawals and balance enquiries for customers of all the main UK banks. Euros on demand are also available.
