Hebasca management held a special preview evening on February 1 to try out the new menu specially put together by their new head chef who is well known in the Bude locality, together with his young team of staff.
As you walk in, the reception area feels warm, light and airy with a lovely welcome extended from the receptionist for whom nothing was too much trouble. Tea was offered in the bar/lounge, which has a Cuban, salsa type of feel, with bright sofas, chairs and soft multi-coloured furnishings.
The food is heavenly, tantalising tastes for your palette with quality wines available to suit every taste. Everyone who attended the evening was amazed at how fabulous everything was. You really could not ask for more from a hotel and restaurant, and Hebasca has it all.
The bedrooms have been refurbished to a high standard, our room was light and airy and had a very comfy super king sized bed, with wooden furniture and a lovely ensuite with extra large shower head over the bath. Tea/coffee facilities were plentiful in the room too.
The next morning brought us a buffet breakfast bar with everything, finished off with a sumptuous Cornish breakfast. We had a walk to Crooklets beach, which is only seven minutes away. Hebasca is ideally situated as it is away from the town centre in a quiet suburb but near enough to walk to.
Bar meals are the next project and hopefully Sunday lunches, as this establishment has got it right so far. Plans for the future are ongoing and will include supporting local community projects, charity lunches and more.
It is advised to book for dinner as they are already filling up fast!
Mark Beedell, general manager, said: “Since the hotel was purchased on September 29, 2018, we have been working hard to make many changes and improvements to the hotel. This would not have been possible without the support of local businesses, and the local community.
“We would very much like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that has supported us during this initial period.
“Much work is still to be done and we are sure people will notice and enjoy some of the upcoming improvements planned for the hotel.
“We are, however, very much in full swing already with our restaurant open seven days a week and a bar menu that our head chef Joe Simmonds will be adding to over the coming months.”
The next few months promise to be a very exciting time for Hebasca Hotel.
