A VINEYARD at Lewdown has received a bronze medal for one of their wines.
Alder Vineyard, based at Lewdown, has announced that they have won a bronze medal for their entry into the Independent English Wine Awards 2019 (IEWA). The team entered their 2016 Madeleine Angevine for the judging, which took place at the end of March.
The awards are now in their third year and hold their annual wine awards at the Rummer Hotel in Bristol. Twenty-four independent judges assemble each year, chosen from every possible aspect of the wine world.
From masters of wine and sommeliers to journalists and consumers, the IEWA judging panel are a great representation of real wine drinkers across the UK. With more entries than previous years, from more producers and regions, it is clear that English wine is continuing to gain recognition for its quality and character.
Tom Hodgetts, from Alder Vineyard, said: “We are all incredibly pleased to receive this award and even more excited for the upcoming year and seeing what 2019 has in store for us.”
