THE team at Jamaica Inn have been presented with a certificate of recognition, highlighting their efforts in making sure people were safe and warm during the heavy snowfall a fortnight ago.
The team, led by general manager Sammy Wheeler, ended up making makeshift beds for up to 150 people who had been stranded on the A30 during the heavy snow on Thursday night, January 31. The team have since been awarded with a ‘customer award for services to the welfare of motorists’ by Highways England on Thursday, February 7.
