A SCHEME, costing £250,000 to improve Camelford's sewer network, is now complete and Fore Street (A39) has re-opened to traffic.
The work was originally scheduled to finish on Friday, November 25 but was delayed by the discovery of other utility infrastructure encased in concrete beneath the road.
South West Water (SWW) and its H5O partners applied to keep Fore Street closed until Friday, December 9 to finish the scheme, but finished nine days earlier than hoped.
Project manager Stephen Cross said: "We promised that we would work to complete the scheme as quickly as possible, including bringing in extra staff and working on Sundays, and we are delighted that we have been able to finish earlier than we thought.
"We would like to apologise to our customers in Camelford, who have been inconvenienced by the road closure, but also thank them for their patience while we carried out this essential work."
