BUDEHAVEN Community School Sixth Form Sports Leaders on February 1 and 2, brought to life the children’s story book Bumpus Jumpus Dinosaurumpus.
The annual preschool storybook event saw more than 300 children from the Bude area preschools, nurseries, and primary schools attend the two-day experience.
The event, organised by Liam Dart, Budehaven Community Leisure Manager, and Callum Wilson, Budehaven PE teacher and Head of SixthForm Sports Leadership, said: “The event was a great success, the young children loved it, the setting’s teachers and leaders embraced the whole event and the SixthForm Sports Leaders were fantastic; the stations they designed and ran made the event a success.”
Preparations for the event started back in October, the sports leaders started designing their stations and decorations to bring the book alive.
The preschools, nurseries and primary schools introduced the book to their children and carried out various pieces of work through art, literacy, forest schools, story time, PSHE, free play and PE as well as designing and making their own costumes in preparation for the event.
Liam said: “Without the cooperation and enthusiasm of the settings the event wouldn’t be the same; once again Bude shows a strong community cohesion.”
The settings described this year’s event as: “The best yet; it gets better every year; the work of Liam, Callum and their team of sports leaders make it everything it should be and more; our children loved it.”
