AN RNLI lifeguard who manages Bude's beaches is preparing to go to Dakar in Senegal to help develop its first dedicated lifeguard service.

Lifeguard Manager Vaughan Lawson is due to leave on Saturday, December 1 with lifeguard colleague Tim Doran, from Ireland, to deliver two weeks of rigorous training to Senegalese volunteer and full-time lifesavers, equipping them with vital knowledge and skills to help save more lives from drowning.

Vaughan and Tim will be travelling to Yoff beach in Dakar, the capital of Senegal, West Africa, to spend two weeks delivering an intensive programme of lifeguard training.
