A STUDENT from Bude has been praised for the work she produced during three days of work experience at The Kitchen Front.

Hannah Smith, who studies A Level Art at Budehaven sixth form, spent three days of work experience at The Kitchen Front, where she made beautiful ceramic trinket boxes (pictured).

Once on sale, her work had been bought within 24 hours and were being shipped off to Australia as a gift.

According to Clair Roberts, at The Kitchen Front, Bude, Hannah’s hard work and what she has produced over the three days is a fantastic accolade of the talent at Budehaven.

Clair said: “I gave Hannah total free reign to make what she wanted, and she created the most wonderful little pieces of artwork with quirky little quotes. I put them on sale as part of her learning process, and I was so pleased for her when they sold, to be sent to Australia!

“She is officially an international designer, and she has only been here for five minutes.”

Work experience is a vital part of a young person’s education, and Clair believes that it is particularly important in the creative industry.

She added: “The value of art is frequently underestimated and needs to be made viable in a commercial world.

“It has been an absolute pleasure working with Hannah. It is simple proof of the creative, well mannered, hard working, responsible young people emerging from Bude.”
