BUDE Twinning Association welcomed their French counterparts to Bude recently for an official reception.

Held at the Castle Heritage Centre, Bude Twinning Association and mayor of Bude-Stratton, Cllr Peter Moores, was delighted to welcome their French visitors from Ergue Gaberic to the town.

Cllr Moores said: “It was a great pleasure to welcome our French visitors and members of the Twinning Association to the official reception at the Castle Heritage Centre. My mayor of Ergue Gaberic and I exchanged gifts before entering the Castle for speeches.

“During morning coffee, we were all treated to some singing by the Bencoolen Wreckers, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

“Fortunately, the weather was kind as there were some members of Bude Croquet Club on hand who had set up a court on the Castle lawn. A few games were played, with some great hilarity, before retiring to the Parkhouse Centre for a buffet lunch.”
