BUDE-Stratton Town Council hopes that the purchase of a new CCTV camera and anti-vandal paint will help deter further vandalism taking place at the old museum on Lower Wharf.

Tiles on the roof of the former museum building have been smashed, lead stolen and guttering kicked off in a number of recent incidents. The latest damage was caused on the evening of Tuesday, April 3 and discovered on the Wednesday morning.

Whilst a price had been agreed to repair the destruction inflicted previously, there had not been enough time before the latest incident for them to be carried out. Town clerk Christine Kett showed images of the destruction, which Cllr Peter La Broy described as "wanton vandalism." Included amongst the rubbish left near the scene were empty bottles of cider.
