THE Bude Quizzers successfully completed their 17th season on a high note with their two traditional post-season Charity Events at the Brendon Arms and the Bude Golf Club when teams were invited to bring along their squads of up to six players.

At the Brendon Arms, £580.00 was raised for 'The Children's Hospice Precious Lives Appeal' and the following week at the Bude Golf Club, £235.00 was raised for 'The Cornwall Air Ambulance'

The Chairman, Guy Pessell handed out the prizes to the worthy winners as follows:

Division One Champions, NCA Division One Shield and Individual Cups: Bay View Inn.

Division One Runners-Up, Individual Cups: Kings Arms 'A'.

Division Two Champions, NCA Division Two Shield and Individual Cups: Bridge Inn.

Division Two Runners-Up, Individual Cups: Treetops Inn.

Brendon Arms Evening, 'Jan Pethick' Memorial Cup': Bridge Inn.

Bude Golf Club Evening, Bude Lions' 'Joy Kaye' Memorial Shield': Bay View Inn.

Best Aggregate Scores, League Challenge Cup: Brendon Arms.

Finally, each season, teams are confidentially invited to select three opponents, whose attitude and behaviour were considered by them to have best served the interests of the League by consistently promoting enjoyable competitive evenings. The team receiving the most votes is awarded the Sponsor's Sporting Cup and this season, Carriers Inn came out on top and were delighted to receive both the trophy and the appreciation of their peers.

The 18th season will commence in early October, with the hope that it will be as competitive and enjoyable as the 17th. Any teams or individuals who fancy their chances will be made most welcome and easily accommodated.
