IN EARLY November each year there is a rowing race held in a small town in Holland called Muiden. It has been running for 19 years and attracts hundreds of entries from all over Holland with many different types of rowing boats; including this year, a team from Bude.
The racing starts on a canal and then competitors race out onto an inland sea, around an Island and then return to the canal. Crews race over this five and a half mile course three times over two days with the winners posting the lowest aggregate times in various categories.
