MEMBERS of Bude Motor Club were among some 50 drivers who took part in a charity track day at Castle Combe circuit near Chippenham.

With only 12 cars on the two mile circuit at a time, the event enabled drivers to take their own cars at speed in a safe, and challenging, environment and, at the same time, raise money.

Organiser Christopher Darwin describes it as "fun with a purpose".

The £4,800 raised (plus £1,200 Gift Aid) has been shared between BuildaSchool Malawi and Combat Stress, which supports ex-servicemen and women suffering from post-traumatic stress. A further £300 was donated to Combat Stress by drivers, after the event.
