OVER 100 runners took part in the Bude Lifeboat Run on Wednesday, June 17 in aid of the RNLI.
Organised by the Launceston Road Runners, the event was open to all and started and finished at Bude Rugby Club.
There were two races — a senior six mile run and a junior relay.
The run was proud to be associated with CATS (Community Action Through Sport), a partnership designed to promote and reward positive community activity by young people through the presentation of sporting awards. CATS sports leaders assisted the Launceston Road Runners and the RNLI crew provided a bbq for spectators and runners throughout the evening. The Ladies Guild had a table of souvenirs and sold teas and coffees.
The run raised £306.76 which will help fund the RNLI's work in saving lives at sea and on inland waterways and will be used where the RNLI needs are greatest.
The organisers thanked all the sponsors, as well as the 55 marshals, and Bude Rugby Club and Whalesborough Farm for their support.
Next year's run will be held on June 16, 2010.
