THE news Bude Jazz Festival will not be taking place next year has been met with indignation from one of the event's host venue managers.
One of the year's biggest attractions, the festival committee revealed the decision on Monday, after a weekend on which member Rachel Hayward said they had concluded, based on figures, the event wouldn't be going ahead.
A statement read: 'The 2011 Bude Jazz Festival was a tremendous success, both in terms of musicianship, and from the enjoyment of the visitors to the festival. Thanks to all those who came and listened, and those who told us how much they enjoyed it via feedback forms.
'Due to the current economic climate which seems set to stay with us for the foreseeable future, the plethora of weekend festivals now taking place around the end of August and the Olympic Games, there will not be a Bude Jazz Festival in 2012.'
