BUDE’S service of remembrance on Friday was a great success, according to the town’s branch of the Royal British Legion.
Mr Harrison told the Post: “It was a very good service; it was well attended and the weather was very kind to us.
“Many thanks to the ex-service personnel who attended, and to the general public who came along and supported the event.”
Mr Harrison was also thankful to the number of young people in attendance, which included the cadets, scouts groups, the brigade and members of the Surf Life Saving Club.
Following the service in the Central Methodist Church, a parade and march was conducted, with town mayor, Lea Deely, and the chairman of the Royal British Legion bringing the event to a close with a salute.
Mr Harrison added: “It was excellent. We had a very good service in Bude; there was a large number of ex service personnel on parade in uniform, and the number of young people in attendance was fantastic. They included the scouts, the brigade, the Surf Life Saving Club and the cadets, and it was absolutely wonderful.
“There was a full church, with the service taking place in the Central Methodist, and there was a parade and march past afterwards.”
