As part of the national 'Wear it Pink' day, in support of breast cancer research, the ladies at Bude Golf Club held a fundraising event on Friday, October 28.

Thirty members dressed in a range of suitable pink attire took part in a match comprising teams of three, on what turned out to be a glorious sunny day. Whilst there had been heavy rain during the week, the course, which is playable throughout the year, was in excellent condition.

Overall winners with 77 points were Jean Pearce, Judith Smith and Dolores Jopson. At the presentations after the competition, ladies current captain Margaret Swayne and forthcoming captain Yvonne Gardiner thanked all those who had taken part in the day's event for their generous donations, which had raised just under £300 for the cause. On behalf of the winning team Jean Pearce thanked all those who had made the day such a success — including Pat Upwood for her splendid homemade cakes!
