A FUN DAY held next to the Neetside Centre in Bude on Saturday, June 5 raised £918.36 towards the charity, Children's Hospice South West.

A large variety of stalls, entertainment and competitions were available to all who attended, including a barbecue, cake stall, bouncy castle, face painting, ice creams, tombola, hook-a-duck, lucky dip, roll-a-10p and a beer tent.

Live music was provided by both The Carriers Inn house band, Roadkill, and Luke Davey who was DJ and who offered karaoke to those brave enough to give it a go.

Luke said of the day: "It went brilliantly, with a strong amount of people attending. It was dry, although a little overcast, but we were happy the weather remained good for the day.

"Everyone who came enjoyed themselves and there was a lot of support from fantastic local people."

On the evening of the fun day, a local 60s band played into the night at The Globe Hotel, which further contributed to funds raised.

The amounts raised will be boosted further when Stef O'Brien takes part in a 240-mile cycle ride along with ten other riders over the course of three days to raise more money for the appeal, setting off on July 2.

Sponsorship and contributions can still be made towards the fund, and forms are available in The Globe Hotel in Bude for those interested.

Luke expressed his thanks to all the businesses and individuals who helped to make the day such a success.
