A BUDE Follies event recently took place, showcasing the best of local talent and raising money for the Bude and Stratton Folk Festival.

On Saturday, April 8, the annual Bude Follies variety show took place at the Falcon Hotel, allowing local talent to perform and raise money for the popular Bude and Stratton Folk Festival, which is held yearly and will take place from May 26 to 29, heralding across the Wharf, the Falcon and the rugby club areas of Bude.

The Bude Follies event featured concerts, barn dances, Cornish dancing and more, raising a total of £650 for the cause. Tickets were sold at £7.50 and there was a full house.

Chris Jurkiewicz, an organiser of the event, said: “Thank you for the continued support. It was good to see a lot of new faces and I hope to see a lot of faces at the festival.”
