Reg and Betty Abbott were married at Flexbury Methodist Church, Bude, on Saturday, April 16, 1949, and Thursday last saw them celebrating their Diamond Wedding Anniversary at home in the company of friends and relatives. Reg, like his father and grandfather before him, worked at Bude Railway Station. His grandfather was there when it opened in 1898 and Reg was there when the Bude branch closed in 1966.
