BUDE Colts were sent to the boggy back pitch to play their Cornwall Semi-Final Cup writes coach Roger Tout. It was thanks to Club Chairman, Simon Dell, for spending a couple of hours forking the pitch that the game went ahead.

The Saltash defence were solid for the first 15 minutes but wave after wave of Bude attacks finally paid off and Bude scored.

The Saltash forwards then took control for about 10 minutes with Steve 'Pumpkin' Bromwich and Ross Bailey to the fore. But the Bude forwards took control again and three more tries were scored before half time.

The second half was all Bude with superior power, fitness and finesse for which we have Mickey Stevens and Chris Hammond to thank for their hours of coaching.

The only time Saltash looked dangerous was when their powerful prop 'Pumpkin' Bromwich continually battered his way into the Bude forwards and was lucky not to score but for the good Bude tackling.
