BUDE Carnival needs you! Without more volunteers, the 120-year-old carnival could cease.
The carnival is due to take place on Saturday, August 17 at 6.30pm. It has been decided not to have a theme this year.
Anyone interested in keeping the annual event going is invited to attend the carnival's AGM at The Falcon Hotel, Bude, on Monday, February 4, at 7pm.
Sue Bartrop, the honorary secretary/treasurer, said: "The carnival committee would welcome new members (and helpers on the day) to eventually take over from the present ageing committee and help with some of the organisation required.
"Our most urgent need is for a new secretary. This could be a newly retired person, but age is no barrier. Without more help, the carnival is likely to close after more than 120 years.
"Please come along and give us your support."
