Bude-based rock band 'The Sum Of' released their debut album at local music venue Bar 35 on Saturday, October 25 to hundreds of excited music lovers. Extra security and bar staff were drafted in as the venue was almost overwhelmed by happy gig go-ers. Local artists Tom Conibear and Kit Davis supported the band with their warming acoustic and vocal styles, as the crowds grew in anticipation of the The Sum Of's arrival to the stage. The boys didn't disappoint, tearing into an hour's worth of energy filled rock songs, some from the album and some new material that they were performing for the first time. "We have been so overwhelmed by local support for what we are doing", said Wes Hutchinson, bass and keyboard player in the band. "We would all like to thank everyone who showed up, it was an amazing night. We would also like to thank Jo from Bar 35 who allowed us to put this event on." The boys are now going to be busy promoting the album across the South West, and are playing in a host of other venues in the coming months, including Truro's Bar 200. There is also talk of a single release and a music video for early 2010. The album sold well on the night, and will now be available from Bude surf shop, The Wavehouse, and to download from the i-tunes store.
