DISCUSSIONS are taking place to decide whether Bude-Stratton Town Council should take on the toilets by the Post Office, Bude, from Cornwall Council, after it was recently announced that they are up for sale.

Cllr Alan Biggs, at Bude-Stratton’s recent full council meeting, said: “It is our intention to take the Post Office toilets on. From September 5, staff will clean them and send Cornwall Council the bill, which I think is the most sensible way to go about it. There’s no downside to this, and potentially an upside.”

Cornwall Council, which currently leases the toilets, is offering a service level agreement to the town council.

Cllr Biggs added: “By signing, we’ll achieve what we wanted to achieve.”
