MEMBERS from Bude and Launceston Scouts donned their hiking boots as they took part in a mountainous challenge.

On Monday, April 8, two Scout Leaders Dave Carter and Simon Hammond, along with two helpers Nicola Hammond and James Howard-Jones, set off with 14 Bude and Launceston Scouts — four girls and ten boys, for Snowdon National Park.

En route they visited the waterfall at Pistyll Rhaeadr, where they had lunch, then on to the Ogwen Valley, where they stayed for the next four days, in a Welsh scout hostel at Yr-Hafod.

Each morning the scouts were awakened at 7.30am with a busy start to the day including preparing their lunch, packing their day bags and sitting down to a hearty cooked breakfast to fuel them through the day.
