SIR James Smith's School, Camelford, celebrated a broad canvas of success for many students and subjects, with some individual 'outstanding' achievements. Twelve subjects beat national outcomes with German, art and design, geography, science and design technology doing particularly well. Of the students following the English Baccalaureate, 65% achieved the grades required in the most challenging academic subjects expected by the top universities. The number of A*/A grades went down this year and more than a third of students achieved at least one A*/A, 12% of students racked up five or more A*-A grades with a number gaining 8 or more straight A*-A grades.
