A squad of highly-talented Be Number 1 athletes and successful Olympians, including Sarah Webb, another double Olympic Gold Medallist will be tackling the gruelling Land's End to John O'Groats endurance challenge in a number of unique and intriguing ways. The team are aiming to raise £100,000 for the British Heart Foundation (BHF).
Sarah has supported this activity by visiting Okehampton Primary School, and the BHF conducted skipping challenges and colouring competitions to help raise funds for the charity.
Be Number 1 is a website that helps raise financial support for aspiring British Olympians, Paralympians and World Champions.
Sarah, who is a Be Number 1 Co-Founder, commented: "I am thrilled and excited to be visiting Okehampton Primary School and looking forward to sharing my experiences with the local children. Going into schools helps us to deliver messages about health, fitness and diet and showing that by having goals and determination it is possible to achieve anything.
"We want to encourage kids to enjoy sport and provide them with expert advice on how to keep fit. It is about helping kids who are passionate about sport and hopefully pushing them that little bit extra to be the number one."
Owen Penney, Fundraising Volunteer Manager, British Heart Foundation said: "Heart disease can affect anyone, young, old, male or female — it doesn't discriminate. We all know someone who has been affected by heart disease. We really appreciate the huge effort that the team at be Number 1 and Okehampton Primary School have put into raising funds for the charity to enable us to continue our life saving work."
