CAMELFORD’S annual harvest auction, organised by the sports and social committee of the Camelford Conservative Club, took place on Wednesday, September 25 at the club.

The auctioneer was Ian Harvey, treasurer of Camelford Conservative Club, ably assisted by members of the sports and social committee — Jo Wickett, bar manager, Paula Boundy and Steve Sanders.

There was brisk bidding for a wide variety of goods throughout the evening and the amount raised by the auction is in the region of £1,600 to date.

Madge Walkey, on behalf of the Camelford committee of Cancer Research UK, gave a comprehensive vote of thanks to all those, particularly Ian Harvey, who had helped to make the evening such a success.

The Conservative Club, too, have extended their thanks to everyone, including local businesses, who kindly donated goods for auction and all who bid for goods on the evening.

The proceeds of the auction will be shared equally by the Camelford committee of Cancer Research UK and Cornwall Air Ambulance. Cheques will be presented to the two charities at a later date.
