THE Pathfields bridleway linking Bude Junior School and the Splash Leisure Centre housing estate to Stratton Primary School has undergone a major face lift thanks to parent pressure, help from local councillors and persistence from Stratton School.
The Pathfields bridleway a few months ago was a "health hazard".
Gareth Cann, Bude Area Countryside Ranger said: "I was shocked and disgusted by the state of it. I was called to clear up glass but the pathway was covered in leaves, dog mess and rubbish. I am really pleased that we have all worked together to clean the path."
The pathway is heavily used by children and families walking to school. Children accidently tread in the dog mess, and the leaves which reduced the size of the pathway meant that it became very congested with scooters, buggies and children unable to pass each other safely.
