ENTHUSIASTIC gardeners in Bridgerule had a tremendous response on Sunday, June 19 when they opened their gardens to raise money for the Devon and Cornwall Air Ambulance trusts.

In total £2,947 was raised and a cheque for £1,473.50 will be sent to each trust.

Organiser Chris Hitchings commented: "We raised almost £1,000 on top of last year's total. We were certainly blessed with the weather and people came from all over the place."
