Police said they have received a number of reports of burglaries and attempted burglaries, mostly involving commercial and public premises in Launceston recently.

Police are asking for the community and especially the business community to be particularly vigilant at this time and to keep a close watch on their security, and the properties of their neighbours, to identify any unusual or suspicious activity that may help to prevent or detect a crime.

They said the burglaries identified so far have probably been carried out during the hours of darkness.

Anyone with information or concern, contact Launceston Police Station via telephone number 101, or email [email protected]
