THE Great Train Robbery will be performed by Scratchworks Theatre on October 1, 8pm at Bradworthy Memorial Hall.
This piece of comedy theatre created by Scratchworks, unfolds the untold tale of four ladies who embark upon a madcap adventure of mischief and mayhem, which starts with the heist of the century.
In the early hours of Thursday, August 8 1963, signals are scrambled, phone lines cut and millions of pounds of cash is stolen. The story of the Great Train Robbery could not be more local — Beaford House in Devon was used by the train robbers as a meeting place and people say some of the stash is still there!
Part of the Beaford Arts Autumn 2016 programme, which promises ‘extraordinary events in unexpected places’, this performance offers a raucous combination of physical theatre, live music and clowning.
Tickets £7.50 adults, £5 under 16, £22.50 family from www.beaford-arts.org.uk or 01409 241313.
