A MORWENSTOW man has been awarded Individual Fundraiser of the Year at the annual Marine Conservation Society’s AGM.

It was a proud moment for Brad Olde, who picked up the award at the very prestigious occasion, which was held at Prince Phillip House in London on November 8.

After suffering a cardiac arrest in 2015, Brad has fought back against all odds and completed a five-day kayaking challenge in May this year, raising £1,477 for the Society.

It was because of the hard work he put in that the board of directors agreed he should receive the award.

The award was presented by Ben Garrod, TV presenter and biologist. There was also a presentation by the producers of Blue Planet II with approximately 100 people in attendance.

Brad expressed his thanks to Joel Perkins of Shoreline for the training ahead of his kayaking challenge, and to all the people who donated to this worthwhile cause.
