BOSCASTLE Pre-School are one step closer to moving into their new premises. The builders have now commenced the renovation and extension works on 'Top School.'
Last year, the pre-school was successful in obtaining a substantial grant from Cornwall's Family Services to renovate the building and its outdoor space to provide an outstanding pre-school setting.
In partnership with Boscastle Primary School, the project steering group are working towards completion in time for the new school year in September 2010.
"We are so excited about this project. Boscastle Pre-School is going to be able to provide a very unique and high quality setting for its children and their families," said Nicola Collings.
The setting will be open by the new school year and will provide purpose built premises, with brand new facilities and an exceptional outdoor all weather area.
The facilities will also include a vegetable garden and orchard, where the children can grow organic fruit and vegetables to pick for their snack time and cooking sessions.
The other exciting part of the new location will be the nature area. The group has been lucky enough to work with The Eden Project's landscape architect and play scheme organiser, to turn the now overgrown woodland and stream area into a 'wonderland' where the children, under supervision, can explore and discover plants and creatures and learn how to play safely with consideration for the nature around.
Boscastle Pre-School Playgroup is a small friendly group that has operated since 1973. There are currently 18 children on the pre-school register. The group is open five days a week for morning and afternoon sessions.
